Fellow Libertarians,
This new website for the Libertarian Party of Dallas County represents a new step forward for the activism and community of the LP in North Texas. It is my most sincere hope that it becomes a wellspring of information and ideas that every involved libertarian seeks out first when they have a question or just feel the need to connect. In recent years, the internet has proven to be a powerful tool for political causes in this nation, so it is fitting that any new initiative for growth and vitality be accompanied by the launch of a new face on the web.
With the features of our new website, we will be able to communicate more effectively and plan events with a efficiency that far out paces our old methods. Excitingly, we will also be able to present a more energetic and dynamic face to those libertarians who are not yet actively involved with the local party, but happen to surf onto the site. Our political rivals, on the other hand, will see that the Dallas County LP is not a mysterious political machine, but a community of decent folks with a love for liberty and freedom committed to helping others unburden themselves of a too-intrusive, oppressively-priced government.
While the national LP and the Texas LP both have their own websites, only this site will carry the most up-to-date information from the local network of libertarians. Only this website will draw attention to the excesses at City Hall here in Dallas, the wastefulness of the Trinity River Project, the nanny-state ordinances enforced by Dallas and Park Cities police, and other important issues to the residents of Dallas County. In addition, libertarians from neighboring counties can use this website as a tool to inform us about the political climates and opportunities for activism in Collin, Denton, Tarrant, Rockwall, Ellis and Kaufman counties or get involved in events on this side of the line. Our forums are open to libertarians everywhere, as well as the politically undecided that might wish to know more about us.
We have the technology to create the premier LP county website in Texas, thanks to the much-appreciated efforts of our site designer. Now, only one crucial element is missing - YOU! Create an account and get involved in the discussions or sign up for events today. The process is simple, painless, and free. It is the people that make a political party, not the so-called leaders or torch-bearers. Without your involvement, the website, and the party, ceases to breathe and grow.
